The Pratassmaranam which means remembering or meditationg at dawn, is a compostition of three verses describing the nature of the self as the witness of the three states, the illuminator of all and the self of all. Satpadi, a composition of six couplets is a prayer where Sri Sankaracarya assumes the role of a humble devotee and earnestly requestes the Lord to lift him from the ocean of samsara.
